Introduction to Digital Photography

This course teaches you how to use a digital camera. Photography is a great past time as well as a potential profession. Capturing good photos can give you a lot of enjoyment  and likewise your friends, family and followers. 


Learning Objectives:

After this course you will be able to:

  • Operate a digital camera
  • Progress from automatic to semi-automatic to manual settings, and other more advanced settings
  • Discuss the application and limitations of different types of lenses and filters 
  • Apply a variety of techniques to compose photos
  • Discuss the different types of light including how to use a flash

  • Introduction
    • Why learn Digital Photography?  
    • What extra equipment could you need? 
  • Basic operations and more advanced camera settings
    • Aperture and Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance, Exposure Compensation, Focus points, Metering
  • The 'Rules' of Composition and breaking the rules
  • Light
    • Natural and Artificial including an introduction to using a Flash
